Hollywood Casino at Penn National

The award-winning Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course is a multi-use project, which includes a 325,000 SF state-of-the-art slot machine casino, restaurant and eateries; a 7,500 seat racing grandstand and parking facilities. The project also included upgrading the existing Penn National Racing stables and paddock areas, winner's circle, recycling facility, a new maintenance facility and new pump station. Another aspect of the project was to enhance water conservation which was accomplished through the re-use of treated waste water effluent which waters the track and casino toilets and well house facilities, all located on a 580 acre tract of land. The result of this award-winning wastewater reuse system now saves Hollywood Casino over nine million gallons of fresh water a year.The scope of the project included a full design of the site layout, roadway design, grading, site lighting, soil and erosion control, 3 storm water management BMP’s, sanitary sewer, water distribution and storm sewer system. McCarthy’s staff provided the complete design and coordination of the approval process for the various developments within this project.
